DESY Summer Student Program 2024 Apply Now. It is an eight week training program to experience research in one of the various fields pursed at DESY, Germany. DESY, the German Electron Synchrotron, is a renowned research center based in Hamburg and Zeuthen, Germany. Established in 1959, DESY focuses on particle physics, accelerator technology, and photon science.

Equipped with advanced particle accelerators like PETRA III and the European X-ray Free-Electron Laser (EuXFEL), DESY conducts groundbreaking experiments in collaboration with international institutions. The research spans various disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. Notable for its contributions to the global scientific community, DESY is a pioneer in developing cutting-edge accelerator technologies, fostering innovation and advancements in the field. DESY offer undergraduate students in physics or related disciplines (such as scientific computing and engineering) the opportunity to obtain first hand research experience at a large international laboratory.

DESY will fund the program and cover all the expenses. The student program is open to bachelor’s student, those about to obtain bachelor’s degree or those who have complete their bachelors degree. The DESY Summer Program 2024 shall take place from 16th July to 5th September 2024. The selected candidates shall do research at the DESY Laboratory in Hamburg or Zeuthen (Berlin). The DESY program is open to all participants from all the countries. The students are expected to work thirty nine hours per week.

Program Benefits

• All the selected candidates shall receive stipend of twelve hundred euros per month. (three lac sixty five thousand in pkr).
• Partial travel compensation to your country from Germany  and from your country to Germany.
• DESY will send an official invitation letter to you for visa purposes. (Visa Assistance to those who require a visa to enter in Germany)
• Candidate shall stay in the DESY Hostel (at reduced rates) during the full program period.
